But first, we need to consider the rise of popular culture, a major theme of 20
century history, and one which, as we’ve seen, divided the Frankfurt School. To
introduce it, we have a unique presentation by Dave Timpson, an avid collector of
early recorded popular music and jazz enthusiast.
