Creative Writing
At home in Verwood 10,00-12,00 (2nd and 4th Thursday) - Marion Phillips
At each meeting we choose a subject and write as much or as little as we feel able. At the following meeting we read out our efforts and discuss them in a friendly and encouraging way. Sometimes, rather than write a fresh piece, a member may decide to edit past work. Because this is an informal gathering, there is no pressure but we find this method helps us to improve our writing and gives enormous satisfaction.
Bridge for Beginners

By the end of the first lesson you will have played a form of Bridge. Advice will be given for you to choose the more useful books to help improve your game. The emphasis will be on enjoyment as opposed to serious competition.
Bridge for Improvers
St Michael’s Parish Centre 3.00-5.00 - John Turnbull

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR
Glyn Roberts
Astronomy is the science that over thousands of years has probed the skies in order to explain the creation and extent of what we can see in the night sky, and to explore further and further beyond what is visible to the naked eye. I shall attempt to take you on this journey of discovery using mainly the achievements of a series of scientists, most of whose names are household words. Rest assured, no scientific or mathematical skills will be needed for you to share my enthusiasm. At St Michael’s Parish Centre Thursdays 2 pm
