Verwood U3A has been active for five years, it is part of an exciting world wide organisation. U3A is open to retired people and those not in full time employment, wishing to broaden their experiences or to share their skills. For more information about U3A click the link below.
Groups meet during the day and are led in a relaxed and informal way. There are no examinations or minimum requirements to attend, just the opportunity to try new subjects or do those things we did not have time to do when we were working. Our group leaders are all volunteers sharing their expertise and enthusiasm, they become honorary members and we are always open to suggestions for new subjects and classes.
There is a small annual membership fee and occasionally a session fee. If you would like to join any of our groups, please complete the registration form and then send it with your cheque for the current fee of £37.50 and a stamped, addressed envelope to our Membership Secretary. We do not receive a government grant and are dependant on membership. You may join up to four different groups per week and it may be possible for you to attend one taster session.
You will receive a Membership Card which will be asked for at any of our events. We will be holding monthly general meetings and monthly pub lunches and we will arrange other social events in due course.
